Docrafts Creativity Review

Today I got a little gift in the post. A copy of the new Docrafts Creativity magazine. I really enjoy Docraft products in general as they are really good and such a fair price. As crafters we are always looking to share money so we can do even more projects. The September issue is full of great projects in fact its full of them. Not just paper crafts but all sorts including a great necklace and cakes.
What I like is the wide range of projects for you to do and that in turn makes it value for money.
This issue came with some fee gifts which will be very useful with Christmas coming up. If you have not tried this magazine yet, then get it today.

Fajita and Film Night with Santa Maria

Now I love a good movie and even better with some yummy food, so getting the chance to do both was a dream.
I got a lovely parcel in the post of all the goodies to make a lovely fajita meal everything was included and very easy and simple to follow. All from Santa Maria . They also have some lovely food ideas so well worth going over to the web site.

As an extra we also got a copy of our fave of all time "Goonies". If you don't know its about a group of kids who go on a fab adventure to try and save their home. I never get tired of it and can watch it over and over.
So hub (who happens to be an excellent cook) was set to make dinner and boy did it smell yummy. I think he did a fab job don't you?

It was all yummy although for me I would have used half the amount of fajita power as I found it a little bit hot. So why not go out and buy all this yummy food and get the movie and have a night in with some good clean family fun.

Birdseye Afterschool chief Challenge

This past week I was very lucky to get the chance to try out some Birdseye  products and the
#Afterschoolchefs Challenge. I don't have children at school but I did have a routine which we like to follow when the kids went back to school.
I know its difficult to get back into a routine after the relaxed days of the summer. When we came back from school I always got them to change out of their uniform. I always found it helped to save their clothes and I was always looking for ways to save money in that area. If homework was waiting that would get done and then I would get started on tea. I would often try and plan meals with the children so that they felt they had a say in what we had. I think it could be fun if they are younger to make a meal chart and let them help to menu plan for the day or week. I also used to make some things in bulk so I have ready things in the freezer for those rushed days when I didn't have time to cook from scratch .
Birdseye have a huge range and I went for vegetable's as they are our favourite. I was amazed at how much I got and this little lot came the £20.00

This you will agree there is a lot of meals to enjoy with this little lot. I do think that a good routine is great for the whole family and getting the kids involved has got to be good.

Magic Moments: Wonderful Cakes and New Friends

Wow Monday again and time to link up with a lovely blog over at www.theoliversmadhouse.co.uk, and magic moments. Its such a lovely link up that makes you stop and think of those lovely things that have happened to you.  With all the negative things in the news these days its really nice to stop and smell the roses so to speak.
As you may or may not know I have a hobby which is cake decorating, to be honest this is one of a few craft items I enjoy.
Back in March I had the pleasure to visit cake international in London , with my friend Heather.  We had a fab day and also got to see so many fantastic cakes,  One which we both loved was made by a lovely lady called Claire from Clairella Cakes  We were amazed by the skill and the colour of her cake it was really beautiful.

We really enjoyed our day out and I always have fun with Heather which is great.
Then I heard that Claire was going to be running classes to make her now famous cake. I was really excited as my air brush skills are not good and I was delighted to get a chance to learn from her,
So Saturday was the big day and what a nice day it was. Claire has a lovely place to work and the company was good too! We all worked very hard and Claire laid on a fab (oh dear my diet) lunch for us. I was delighted with my cake and if you live anywhere near Essex you should check out
Clairella Cakes
So this is my cake .

Magic Moments: My Blogging World

Well its Monday again and I swear the week seems to fly past quicker and quicker. As normal on Monday I love to take part in Magic Moments over at Theoliversmadhouse as I love to take time to really think about any great things that has been happening.  I was thinking this week that I need to work on my blog more. It has been such a step learning curve over the years and I know I am still learning everyday. At first I wouldn't take part in things as I worried I would make a terrible mistake. I don't think I made any bad ones but I was nervous as it is a huge world that I knew nothing about. I am amazed that I have a blog at all , as to be honest I had never even heard of blogging at first. I have tried to learn as much as possible and get to know other bloggers. So far I have been lucky enough to cyber chat with some lovely people, and I think that is a real blessing. I have to thank my niece Emma over at thesyders as she was the one who got me started. At the time I thought she was mad but I am very happy I did now. I do think that my world got a little bit more interesting through blogging, and if not for Emma that may not have ever happened. So my magic moment this week is blogging and all my cyber friends. Thank you for providing me with a great window on the world.

magic Moments:8/09/14

I have had lots of magic moments in my life and I know a few not so magic moments. I love to join in with www.theoliversmadhouse.co.uk as it is a lovely chance to spend time thinking of the nice things.
We were very very lucky in June to get our first grandson. Nathan Charles Cook was born on 8th June and what a joy he is. He is part of a very loving family and has two beautiful parents,

.

Then just a week after this little darling was born we heard even more good news. Our daughter was also expecting a baby! What a surprise two grandchild in one year lol. I had not expected my daughter to have a family yet but we were delighted for her anyway.

Then this week we found out she is having a little girl and we are over the moon that we will have a grandson and a granddaughter. I really hope they grow up to be good friends as they are so close in age. I think its nice Nathan is older as he can look after her like a big cousin should lol.
So we are very grateful to our dear children for the gift of these precious little gifts
