Well the day is nearly here! For millions of people all over the world the Royal wedding is an event not to be missed.
Prince William and Kate will be married this friday, and I have my reserved seating on my sofa right at the front! I was invited I hope you understand but I had to decline due to the fact my hat was not ready in time !!
I am a Londoner born and so is all my family but I will not be making the journey up to town on friday. I am sure the crowds will be great and it will be fun, but years of living in the countryside have made me rather crowd unfriendly.
Part of me wishes I were going as the colour and pomp that London does so well is not to be missed.
As a child my mother and I would always spend summer holidays in London. We would go to every place and spends hours walking around, it was always the highlight of my year. The venue for the wedding is Westminster and it is a truly beautiful building that if your are lucky to get to London, you really should see.
I know I am sad but I can't wait to see Kate's dress as thats the part that I love, as I am sure most women do. I hope they will be really happy as they seem like a sweet couple who fingers crossed can cope with the stress of public life. I also hope the day goes off without problems or trouble for them and all the millions who will bother to go into London to watch.
So enjoy world, I will be sat on my sofa from 8.30 London time with my tea (oh so British) and my tissue to mop up my tears lol
Oh and my daughters wedding in september may not be on such a grand scale but I will ask the Queen for my hat back and I will be set for the day!
I'll be on the sofa too! Can't wait...I wish Princess Diana could see this! I so wanted her to be Queen.
ReplyDeleteI will be watching too...much earlier though here in the US. :)
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be nuts over there. here too in Canada, I am sure everyone will be watching it.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably going to miss it--living in a house full of guys does not do much for the whole girly side of TV watching--but I can catch updates on the web.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm not into the royal wedding at all. I wish the prince and Kate all the love in the world, but other than that, it doesn't interest me :)
I'm a new follower of yours, and I'm looking forward to reading more about you and your life in England! How fun :)

My 94 year old MIL is getting up at 4 am to start watching the Royal Wedding broadcast here in Ohio. I'll roll out of bed around six and start watching then . I watched when Prince Charles and Princess Diana were wed in '81 and then the sad day of her funeral. I'm sure she will be there in spirit for the happy couple : D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the wedding. I have three other people in my house that will not let me watch it. I was married on the day of Di's funeral. My Aunt (by marriage) is actually a distant relative to Di and they are so excited.

ReplyDeleteps: yes, the dress!!! Am definitely looking forward to seeing the dress!!!!
If I was in London, I would definitely be watching!!! I will miss it however! I want the details on your daughter's wedding. THAT sounds more fun to me!
ReplyDeleteYou can bet I'll be watching here in the US! Haven't followed the couple very much, but a royal wedding only happens about once every 15-20 years so I can't wait to watch this moment in history.

New follower from the hop! Thanks for stopping by Mom Always Finds Out.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will wake up in time to watch the actual wedding live (I'm in Alaska), but I have a feeling this wedding will be played and replayed and pictured just about everywhere -- so I'm not worried I'll miss out. :)
Eat some royal wedding cake for me!
