Another month comes to an end, and boy is it just me or does time slip past faster the older we get. I look at both my children and think of those days when they were little. I am so thankful they grew into get adults but part of me still misses those days when the simple things made them happy.
I remember when they were young in the winter. The school had rang to say they were closing as the weather was getting bad. I was also looking after my friends two as she was working. So I wrapped up warm with layers of hats and a bag of warm stuff for the kids, and set off on the mile walk to the school in the snow.
When we came home I had to amuse 4 kids so we started with snowman building. I so think of the fun we all had building that snowman. We all got soooooo cold but it really didn't matter. When we came in and warmed up I was left with the " we are bored" call.
So I found a roll of old wall paper which i laid out on the kitchen floor. I found some safe glue and then went through my kitchen to look for stuff to use.
I gave them pencils and they drew pictures and then stuck all kinds from pasta to rice on to have fun. I put them in old shirts turned with buttons at the back and let them loose. They had such fun with the sticking and paint and just being free to be a messy kids lol. It did not cost much and we all enjoyed it , even me!
So enjoy and remember those specials moments as they will fly past, have fun today!
